Student Visa

Student Visa — Subclass 500

The Student visa allows eligible international students to undertake study with a registered Australian education provider.

A student visa application should be supported by a genuine and coherent study plan, appropriate enrolment, financial arrangements and evidence addressing the applicant’s individual circumstances.

Genuine Student Requirement

The Department may consider the applicant’s current circumstances, reasons for choosing the course and provider, the value of the proposed study and previous immigration history.

Each state and territory applies its own nomination criteria, occupation priorities and selection processes in addition to the federal visa requirements.

Student Guardian Visa — Subclass 590

A Student Guardian visa may be available to an eligible parent, custodian or relative who needs to accompany and care for an international student under the relevant age or welfare arrangements.

Common Student Visa Considerations

How We Can Assist

We can review the proposed course against the applicant’s previous education and career history, assist with Genuine Student responses, prepare a tailored visa-document checklist and review the application before lodgement.

Studying a particular course does not guarantee permanent residence or eligibility for a future skilled visa.
