Employer Sponsorship
Employer-Sponsored Migration
Employer sponsorship can allow an Australian business to sponsor an appropriately skilled worker where the relevant business, position and applicant requirements are satisfied.
These applications can involve separate business sponsorship, nomination and visa requirements. The correct pathway depends on the employer, occupation, location, proposed salary, applicant’s experience and long-term employment plans.

Skills in Demand Visa — Subclass 482
The Skills in Demand visa allows eligible Australian businesses to sponsor skilled workers temporarily in nominated positions.
The requirements differ between the available streams and may include occupation, experience, salary, English-language, skills assessment and sponsorship requirements.

Employer Nomination Scheme — Subclass 186
The Employer Nomination Scheme provides permanent residence pathways for eligible skilled workers nominated by Australian employers.
Different requirements apply under the Temporary Residence Transition, Direct Entry and Labour Agreement streams.

Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Visa — Subclass 494
The Subclass 494 visa allows eligible regional employers to sponsor skilled workers for positions located in designated regional areas.
It is a provisional visa and may provide a pathway to permanent residence for eligible visa holders who later meet the relevant requirements.

Training Visa — Subclass 407
The Training visa may be available for eligible applicants undertaking structured occupational training or professional-development activities in Australia.
The proposed training must be genuine, appropriately structured and connected to the relevant occupational or professional objective.
